Capturing Family Milestones in Amsterdam: Anniversary and Graduation Photo Session

I love to recommend the best time to photograph in Amsterdam. I know sometimes it can be very early or seems very late, but Summer gives us very harsh light on sunny days, and heat is not really our best friend when taking photos. But no worries, as weird as we heard everywhere ⁠

How do you know the best light?⁠

I rely on an app called Golden Hour, which I find to be a reliable tool. I start setting up photo sessions around 30 minutes after the golden hour in the mornings and up to one hour before noon, ensuring the best lighting conditions for your photos.⁠

Why not Golden Hour?⁠

Amsterdam's unique location means the sun stays lower on the horizon, creating a prolonged golden hour effect. This unique phenomenon can make it seem like the golden hour is "delayed" compared to what the app indicates, adding an intriguing twist to your photography experience in Amsterdam.⁠

And what about the afternoon?⁠

Exactly the same, which makes starting 2 hours before sunset the best time for pictures. At least for having the results shown usually on my site and socials.⁠
