Family photo session in Amsterdam streets with hot chocolate
What if I tell you some days in January are even below zero, but there is no issue with taking photos if you get dressed properly. There is a say: "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes""
This family selected the most beautiful outfits for their children, who enjoyed the first tulips outside the tulip museum and a warm hot chocolate to keep them excited all session.
For family photo sessions, the only priority is keeping the kids entertained. They forget about the weather and focus on playing, so racing each other, jumping, and making them select the background to choose between two options is a must. They are constantly "in charge" of the decisions, so we extend their attention span. Then, when they remember it is cold, we go for hot chocolate and keep their attention for some more minutes.
Still, keep them warm, bring heated layers and hand warmers, and they will enjoy their session full-time.
Do you have more tips for family photo sessions? Share them in the comments so we can all use them in the future :)
This session was captured for Flytographer in Amsterdam, and the family left a beautiful review about their pictures:
"Joanna was fantastic! My kids were super grumpy and she was so patient with them, and somehow made them smile for the pictures! She really listened to what we wanted and absolutely delivered."
Enjoy the pictures, and if you need a photographer in Amsterdam, I'm only a DM away.
