Janelle & Mitchell - Waiting for their little one - Pregnancy

It takes me ages to write a blog post, and I remembered I had these beautiful pictures without publishing when I saw their post on Instagram this morning announcing they have reached 40 weeks. Time flies! and so exciting you are going to meet your little one very soon, and all your family is flying to Amsterdam! How beautiful is that :)

Pregnancy is a special time in a couple's life and deserves to be celebrated uniquely and memorably. One of the best ways to capture the beauty of pregnancy is through a professional photo session. I've been so honored to meet Janelle and Mitchell a year before we started planning their engagement session and, later, their wedding. So, I was completely emotional when I received a Whatsapp message from Mitchell asking me to photograph this moment in their lives, and it would be his Valentine's gift for Janelle. They wanted to have the pictures as a family, so we met in the picturesque Jordaan area in Amsterdam, and I also met their dog Bowie for the first time.

We started our photoshoot in the morning to capture the soft natural light but also mix some pictures with harsh light that I adore. Then, Janelle told me she received the surprise the day before the session, but she had a hint before that she had to wear a dress. I adored her dress selection because it accentuates the baby bump with a modern twist. My style mixes street photography and portraiture, so their outfits went perfectly with Jordaan streets as a background. Then, we started going around the district with Bowie.

The water, the bridges, and the historic buildings created a stunning backdrop for our pictures. We took many romantic and playful shots, perfectly capturing my friends' love and happiness. We even found a bakery with the message Fresh for 2023, which we love and believe is one of the favorite pictures of this session.

Overall, the photo session was a huge success. It was a day filled with laughter, joy, and beautiful memories. My friends were thrilled with the pictures, which they will cherish forever. I highly recommend a pregnancy photo session if you are expecting a child. However, if you want something more relaxed, a street photo session is a beautiful way to capture this special moment in your life and create memories that will last a lifetime.
